Summer Program
Wildwood Linen Supply is a commercial laundry that caters to the summer tourist industry by renting sheets, pillowcases, towels, napkins, tablecloths, and other items to the area motels and restaurants. The company is located in Wildwood Crest, NJ, which is at the southernmost point of the state. During the summer months the company is able to add a second shift (3:30 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.) to handle the increased business. This is composed mostly of college students.
The following is proposed by Wildwood Linen:
1. Provide students with a full time summer job, since our business depends on the summer tourist economy, we cannot predict exactly how many hours you will work during any given week. By the end of the summer you will have averaged between 35 to 45 hours per week.
2. Students will work on the 3:30 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. shift. During busy weeks, the plant will work until 1:00 A.M. During slow weeks the plant will close at 12:00 A.M.
3. Your work schedule will be arranged according to the workload in the plant. The plant will be open seven days a week including Sundays. Any student wishing to enter the program must be willing to work Sundays.
4. The work consists of feeding and folding linen into production machines. Each student must meet required quotas (number of pieces per hour) which will be shown by a foreman.
5. The pay rate has not been set at present - however, you will receive free lodging and at least $8.25 per hour . Pay rate for hours worked over 40 in one week is at least $12.38 per hour.
6. Students will be required to pay $8.31 per week for union dues in accordance with New Jersey "Right to Work laws".
7. Housing with cooking facilities will be provided to students at a rate of $75.00 per week. This money will be returned in full provided the student works until the agreed upon termination date.

Wildwood is a shore resort and provides a nice summer setting with beautiful beaches and varied activities for a working summer vacation. I believe you will spend an enjoyable summer while earning necessary financial help for the coming school year. Wildwood Crest is approximately 40 miles from Atlantic City and 120 miles from New York City; public transportation is available.
